Course Syllabus

The Electrical Safety and Protection electrical course examines electrical hazards and stresses the importance of electrical safety. The course covers the maintenance equipment and procedures necessary to work safely with electricity, including PPE, lockout/tagout, and first aid. Explains the importance of grounding. Describes many kinds of fuses, circuit breakers, and motor protection devices and their uses

This program is intended as an overview of basic electrical safety for individuals with limited electrical training who as a part of their work, may be potentially exposed to electrical hazards. This is an awareness level course for “unqualified persons”. Unqualified persons must be trained in and be familiar with any other electrical safety-related practices necessary for their safety. For example, if employees are affected by electrical work performed in the workplace, then they should understand the hazards and be familiar with electrical safety requirements.
